Legendary Pokemon in Pokemon X and Y

Pokemon X and Y Legendaries

Legendary Pokemon have become a hallmark of the Pokemon game franchise, with the games starting after generation 1 being named based on the featured legendary Pokemon and playing  major role in their plots. They can be difficult to catch, requiring the use of Master Balls, or patience and skill.

 

Xerneas: Pokemon X and Y Legendary Pokemon

Xerneas is the featured Pokemon from Pokemon X and is known as the Life Pokemon. Being the first fairy type legendary Pokemon, it also has the ability, Fairy Aura, which strengthens fairy type attacks.  It’s Pokedex entry states, “Legends say it can share eternal life. It slept for a thousand years in the form of a tree before its revival.”

 

Xerneas is found in the Secret HQ of Team Flare in Pokemon X only.

 

Yveltal: Pokemon X and Y Legendary Pokemon

Yveltal is the featured legendary Pokemon for Pokemon Y.  It is a Dark/Flying type Pokemon that knows the ability Dark Aura, strengthening Dark type moves. Known as the Pokemon of destruction, it is powerful and has continuous life that comes from absorbing the life of those around it. Its Pokedex states, “When its life comes to an end, it absorbs the life energy of every living thing and turns into a cocoon once more.”

Yveltal is found in Team Flare’s Secret HQ in Pokemon Y only.

Zygarde: Legendary Pokemon in Pokemon X and Y

Zygarde is found in both Pokemon X and Y in the Terminus Cave. Known as the Order Pokemon, it is a balance of sort between both X and Y and Xerneas and Yveltal. It is a Dragon/Ground type Pokemon that has the Aura Break ability, breaking up the Auras of those Pokemon in battle.  Its Pokedex entry states, “When the Kalos region’s ecosystem falls into disarray, it appears and reveals its secret power.”
