A new trailer for Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire is out; containing more information on contests and new mega-evolutions. The newest released mega evolutions are for Altaria, Salamence, and Lopunny. Mega Altaria will be a dual Dragon/Fairy type with the ability Pixelate, and it gains a boost in attack. Mega Salamence will be Dragon/Flying with the ability Aerilate, and receives a boost in its defense. Finally, mega Lopunny will be a Normal/Fighting type with the ability Scrappy, and is receiving a boost in both attack and special attack. As for the previously released mega Metagross, an event has been confirmed for release; at the release of ORAS, there will be a shiny Beldum given out holding Metagross’s mega stone.
Though it didn’t quite get a new mega evolution, Pikachu received some new cosplays for contests. Once the player enters the Pokemon Contest Spectacular for the first time, they will receive their own Cosplay Pikachu. These Pikachu’s are unique in that they know a move Pikachu cannot normally learn. There are 5 new Pikachu’s, each knowing a move Pikachu cannot normally learn, and they can even use them in battle. Multiplayer contests are also available online to play with friends.
